Bombay Blackwood
This wood is native to Southwest Asia, from India, Thailand, Indonesia, Laos and Vietnam. It has recently been introduced to America. It is a fast growing tree that regenerates from the stump or roots from a previously harvested tree and reaches a height up to 100 ft. It is an evergreen tree with a straight trunk. The wood is used for furniture, cabinet work, flooring and inlaying. The wood is very strong, durable and hard. In Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam this wood is also known as Killet or Ironwood. The blends of streaking browns, golds and blacks make this an unforgettably beautiful floor.
